On August 13, Israel’s cabinet signed on to the United Nations ceasefire designed to end the latest round of Lebanese-Israeli violence. The ceasefire was a mistake of drastic proportions—the UN cannot be trusted to ensure the security of the state of Israel. For decades the UN has provided aid and comfort to terrorists along Israel’s northern border. The UN has consistently refused to condemn Islamist terrorism while it condemns virtually any action Israel takes in self-defense.

Following the 9/11 attacks, and subsequent growth of interest in Islam, the country has in many ways attempted to bridge connections with the Muslim community rather than dismantle them. Unlike its brethren in the east, the Muslim community in America projects a more moderate voice.

At $18,000, he was the highest paid performer at the festival, which featured all of the musical stars of that decade. Hendrix rocked the crowd with his now famous performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Northwestern University has on its faculty a professor, Arthur Butz, who is an outspoken Holocaust denier. Butz, an electrical engineering professor, first published his views in a book called The Hoax of the Twentieth Century in 1976, shortly after he received his tenure.
