ZOA Campus Fellowship Requirements

Who you are:

  • A full time college student attending a university or college in North America.

  • An active member of the campus community who will be able to serve as ZOA Campus Fellow for two consecutive semesters (students who will be abroad for a semester or a year will not be able to split up the term of their fellowship).

What you will do:

  • Devote a minimum of 5 hours per week to the position of ZOA Campus Fellow for the next 2 semesters.

  • Attend meetings with on-campus Israel group(s) and partner with them when organizing ZOA campus programs.

  • Connect weekly with the ZOA Campus Coordinator through a fifteen to twenty minute phone conversation.

What you will accomplish:

  • Organize a minimum of 4 programs on campus--at least 2 programs per each of the 2 semesters that you are serving as the ZOA Campus Fellow--in conjunction with the ZOA’s Campus Activism Network.

Your Programs:

  • All of the ZOA campus programs must be organized in conjunction with the ZOA Campus Activism Network and approved by the ZOA campus department two months in advance and must be promoted on your campus at least one month before the scheduled ZOA campus program.

  • At least one of the ZOA campus programs you organize must include bringing a speaker from the ZOA Speaker’s Bureau.

  • You will work with at least 2 different on-campus “partner-organizations” to co-sponsor the ZOA campus programs (e.g. Hillel or Chabad), and at least one of the programs you organize must involve an on-campus group outside of the Jewish community (e.g. College Democrats or College Republicans).

  • At least one of the ZOA campus programs must be a large program that reaches many students (between 50 and 100 students).

What you will walk away with:

  • An experience of bringing pro-Israel programs to your campus and reaching diverse campus groups.

  • A network of other pro-Israel activists with whom you can collaborate.

  • An opportunity to work closely with a national pro-Israel organization and to gain valuable professional experience.

  • The ability to plan and create events that require organization, insight, and energy.

  • The knowledge that you helped college students learn more about Israel and foster a closer relationship with the Jewish state.
